A First Glimpse at Peter Pan

September 2, 2014

In just three short months, NBC will air Peter Pan Live. While auditions for supporting cast members are still in the works (here’s hoping they find another Sophia Anne Caruso!), the producers have let us in on a couple (not-so-secret) casting secrets.

NBC better give Peter Pan some dance breaks, because Allison is more than ready to get down.

First, there was the announcement that the delightfully quirky Christopher Walken will play a tap-dancing Captain Hook. Then, about a month ago, “NBC Nightly News”‘s Brian Williams announced that his daughter, Allison Williams, will play Peter Pan. You may know Allison as Marnie on “Girls,” or for her guest appearances on “The Mindy Project.” But the young actress also has a strong YouTube presence for her amaaazing voice. (Don’t take my word for it: Check out her viral cover of the “Mad Men” theme song from 2010.)

So she’s got the acting skills, got the vocals, got the moves…now all she needs to do is learn to fly! (And she’s working on that, too.)

Apparently, playing this part has been a long-time dream of Allison’s, as evidenced by an adorable #throwback picture—shared by Brian Williams—of her dressed as Peter Pan as a little kid. Until today, this was the only photo we had to go off when it came to imagining this long-haired beauty as the infamous lost boy. But this morning, executive producer Neil Meron tweeted the first official image of Allison in costume. Check out the transformation!

Be sure to tune in to Peter Pan Live, Thursday, December 4 on NBC.
