"DWTS" Week 7 Recap: A Night at the Movies
Any time Mandy Moore does anything, anywhere, it’s bound to be amazing. (I mean, La La Land? “SYTYCD”? You get the picture.) So as very active members of the Mandy Moore fan club, we were beyond excited that she was a guest judge on “Dancing with the Stars” last night—and on “Movie Night,” no less. But we digress. There’s a lot of dancing to cover (and two eliminations!), so let’s get into it.
Normani and Val’s Argentine Tango
Week after week, these two have blown everyone away, and rightfully so. Their Argentine tango was well-rehearsed, confidently danced and absolutely, 100% genuine. Normani’s stage presence is the real deal, which makes it that much better to watch. Not to mention, she’s battling a bad back injury and still slayed. #YasQueen. The judges agreed, giving them a 40/40—and immunity.
Simone and Sasha’s Charleston
This duo is very clearly out to claim that Mirror Ball, and they made it all the more evident this week. Simone and Sasha’s silent film-inspired Charleston was a close second to Normani and Val’s sizzling tango. This routine was soooo Simone, and it worked. She and Sasha have such great energy, and a Charleston is the perfect dance to showcase that.
But if last week taught us anything, it’s that no one is safe in the land of the Mirror Ball trophy. We’re still shocked about Heather Morris’ elimination, so it was no surprise when two couples were sent packing this week: Nancy Kerrigan and pro Artem Chigvintsev and Nick Viall and pro Peta Murgatroyd.
We’re one week closer to the big finale, and based on how this season’s unfolded so far, we have a feeling it’s gonna be pretty interesting. Until next week!
