Seize the day and get your tickets: Newsies is opening on Broadway! The show, which began with a super-successful regional run at New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse last fall, will premiere on the Great White Way this month with a new cast, a stellar crew and all the songs you know and love from the 1992 film, including “King of New York” and “Seize the Day.”

If you’re a Newsies newbie, here’s what you need to know about the show: It follows Jack Kelly, a charming young paperboy living in NYC at the turn of the last century. Jack and his friends—the “newsies”—want more exciting

lives. They’re tired of being paperboys, and they let the audience know through song and dance. Together they lead a strike against real-life publishing titans Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst. The musical features choreography by Christopher Gattelli (who also choreographed South Pacific’s revival). Get your tap shoes ready—the newsies are in town!
