Abby Lee Miller on "The View"

February 21, 2013

As the self-proclaimed biggest fan of the Abby Lee Dance Company ever, one hour of “Dance Moms” per week is never enough for me. Luckily, I was blessed with some bonus time with the girls, the moms and, of course, the one and only Abby Lee Miller, who co-hosted “The View” with her team in tow Wednesday morning. In case you missed it, the vivacious and outspoken studio owner—clad in her signature sparkles and jewels—was seated center stage among the talk show’s leading ladies, defending her teaching tactics (of course, not without some banter with the dance moms who were in the front row of the audience).

In all her glory

I was thrilled to see another outstanding performance from my favorite dancers—if you can believe it, “The Last Text” was even more chilling and technically impressive than when it swept Nationals last season. (Thankfully, this version skipped the bloody makeup all over Mackenzie’s little face.)

If I could have taken a screen shot of Chloe’s perfect, slow quadruple pirouette, I would have. But this pretty tilt will just have to do instead.

And there were some surprises, too: As the camera panned to the proud parents, I spotted Kristie (mother of Asia), a feisty dance mom from “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition.” A top three finalist and fan favorite, 7-year-old Asia was suddenly among the original ALDC crew as the credits began to roll. Hmm…are we going to be seeing another “replacement” this season on “Dance Moms”? I can’t wait to watch it all unfold.
