Catching Up with Cover Model Search Finalist Michelle Quiner

We’re thrilled for our Cover Model Search winner Kaylin Maggard—but we also love our two runners-up, Haley Hartsfield and Michelle Quiner! We talked to Michelle about how life has changed since her NYC visit for the contest.

What have you been up to since your trip to NYC?

I went to the Youth American Grand Prix finals, and I got a scholarship to the highest level at Washington Ballet School for the next year. So, I’ll be starting there this fall, and I’m really excited! I also attended Orlando Ballet’s two-week-long Senior Summer Intensive, which was so much fun, and New York City Dance Alliance Nationals and The Dance Awards.

Did you have any special campaign strategies during the voting period?

I worked really hard sending messages on Instagram to my friends. My mom sent emails around to our friends and family asking them to vote. Lots of people shared about it on social media, which was really nice of them.

What was your favorite part of the whole experience?

I loved the photoshoot. And getting to meet everyone from Dance Spirit, and Kaylin and Haley.

How have you grown since the CMS trip in the spring?

I think that now I’m starting to enjoy the hard work part of dance more than I used to. I still don’t love class, but I’m beginning to like it.

Do you have any advice for future CMS hopefuls?

Work really hard and have the mindset that anything is possible with dedication and hard work.
