This Is How You Use Dance and The Spice Girls to Solve World Problems

July 5, 2016

In September 2015, The Global Goals for Sustainable Development were adopted by world leaders as a way to tackle huge problems like climate change and access to healthcare.

Because of the relation between gender inequality and poverty, women and girls are disproportionately effected by the same issues and problems that all people face, like access to clean water and the chance to pursue an education. As a way to make sure that gender equality stays at the forefront of everyone’s mind, the geniuses at The Global Goals created this video that features amazing dancers, and women and girls from around the world, singing about what they really, really want.

Oh, and yes. That’s a Spice Girls reference. #girlpower

Of course, we love that all the performers were credited for this video—Jacqueline Fernandez, Seyi Shay, Gigi Lamayne, Moneoa, M.O., Taylor Hatala and Larsen Thompson—along with director MJ Delaney and the other editors and crew involved with the project.

Get involved by posting a photo of yourself telling the world what you want for women and girls. Use the hashtag #whatireallyreallywant and, better yet, make it a mini-dance video!
