I used to love dance so much, but I’ve been injured on and off for the past year,
and I feel like I’m losing hope and motivation.
What can I do to get excited about dancing again? Or is this a sign that I should just quit?
Every single dancer goes through a phase like this! You’re not alone. Start by thinking about why you started dancing in the first place. Was it the movement? The music? Once you can pinpoint where your desire sparked, that can help you find your motivation again. You can also give yourself a time limit. Commit to dance with everything you have for six months or a year. If you rediscover your motivation and desire during that time, wonderful! If not, then you’ll know that it might be time to move on. And that’s OK. You aren’t a failure if you decide to quit. But committing 100 percent for a certain period of time will help you realize if this is what you want to do or not.
