"DWTS" Week 6: Latin Night

October 17, 2016

Bless the “Dancing with the Stars” peeps for knowing we needed something to help us recover from the cryfest that was Most Memorable Year week. Bless them for knowing that that something was an extra-spicy, super-hot Latin Night. Bless you, “DWTS” team, for washing away last week’s tears with an actual onstage shower.

Latin Night always seems to show the competitors at their best—because there’s nothing like aggressive hip action to bring even the shiest star out of her sequined shell, amirite? Let’s shimmy our way through a roundup of the highest highs:

First—as usual—we have Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, whose super-fun salsa included some high-flying acrobatics. Was it perfect? Nope. Was it more than enough to keep Laurie firmly ensconced in our hearts? Oh, heck yes.

James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess showed us the softer side of Latin Night in a sweetly sensual rumba. Many, many bonus points were earned by James’ flocked, spangled, split-to-the-waist shirt:

The one perfect score of the week went to Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko, who are going to start a lab fire with their crazy chemistry—so maybe the shower located center stage during their Argentine tango was actually a safety precaution? It was darn hot, whatever it was, and the pair showed some impressive technique before getting oh-so-sexily soaked:

At the end of the night, we said goodbye to Amber Rose and Maks Chmerkovskiy, which was sad but not entirely unpredictable. Next week: the triumphant return of Mr. Len Goodman to the judging table! We’ve missed his distinctively British brand of grumpiness.
