Prince George is LOVING Ballet Lessons
If you’re as obsessed with the Royals as we are then you’ll be over the moon to hear of Prince George’s budding passion for dance. According to Prince William, his son has become extremely fond of ballet lessons.
The 5-year-old prince’s new hobby was brought up during a discussion between William and a 14-year-old street dancer named Junior who was attending a reception at Kensington Palace. “George is doing dancing as well—he loves it,” William said. And young George may have gotten his flair for dance from his late grandmother, Princess Diana. “My mother always used to dance, she loved dancing,” William said. Then William gave the young dancer words of encouragement regarding his future dance goals: “If it’s something you love, you do what you love,” he said. “Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. Keep at it.”
Prince George’s current academic schedule includes a 35-minute ballet class based off of the Royal Academy of Dance’s curriculum—so before we know it we may have a real-life prince performing as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake. That might be a little premature, so we’ll just unofficially nominate Prince George as one of Dance Magazine’s “25 (dancers) to Watch.” 😁
Fast forward to 1:02 in this clip to catch William’s heart-warming conversation with the young dancer.
