What 10 of Your Favorite "SYTYCD" Dancers Are Up to Now
What happens to all the talented dancers after “So You Think You Can Dance” ends? For many alums, “SYTYCD” is just the beginning. Here’s what 10 of our all-time favorite “SYT” standouts (Melody! Hok! Jeanine! Kiki and Koine!) are doing these days.
Melody Lacayanga, Season 1
Let’s start by throwing it all the way back to Season 1, when the gorgeous Lacayanga was the first runner-up and top female contestant. Since then, she’s danced all over the world, from the Philippines to Ireland to Singapore. You might’ve seen her onstage with Miley Cyrus or the Sonya Tayeh Dance Company, or on TV on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Glee,” or “America’s Got Talent.”
Lauren Gottlieb, Season 3
Gottlieb’s career skyrocketed after her appearance on Season 3. Not only has she performed with Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Brittney Spears, and Willow Smith, but she’s also taken Bollywood by storm. She’s starred in the Indian films ABCD: Any Body Can Dance and Ambarsariya, and she was also a contestant on the Indian dance show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” before going on to become a judge.
Hokuto “Hok” Konishi, Season 3
Since making it to the finals of Season 3, Konishi’s had a seriously successful career as a choreographer. In 2011, he choreographed the music video for “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO, which quickly began a classic. He’s also still a member of Quest Crew, and participated in the group’s winning run on Season 8 of “America’s Best Dance Crew”—because why dominate one TV comp when you can dominate two?
Jeanine Mason, Season 5
Jeanine Mason took home the title of America’s Favorite Dancer in Season 5. These days, she’s respected not just as a dancer, but also as an actress. We absolutely loved her on “Bunheads,” and she currently has a recurring role on the hit show “Grey’s Anatomy.” Oh, and in her spare time (!), she earned a degree from UCLA. NBD.
Mollee Gray, Season 6
Gray was such a sunny standout on Season 6 that her subsequent Disney starlet status makes total sense. She’s had plum roles in Teen Beach Movie, the forever iconic High School Musical 3, and the shows “Victorious,” “Big Time Rush,” and “Austin & Ally.” Catch her latest film, A Night to Regret, on Lifetime June 24th!
Ellenore Scott, Season 6
Scott’s been on fire since earning fourth place on “SYT” Season 6. Not only is she artistic director of her own company, ELSCODance, she’s also the associate choreographer of two major musicals coming to Broadway soon: King Kong and Head Over Heels. If you’re in NYC, you can take class with the all-star at Broadway Dance Center.
Nico Greetham, Season 10
Nico Greetham instantly won over our hearts on Season 10. Now you can catch this all-star dancer as Calvin on Nickelodeon’s “Power Rangers” series. Also, he’s basically a professional Instagram model at this point (seriously, give him a scroll right now).
Derek Piquette, Season 12
After showing off his serious flexibility skills on Season 12, Derek Piquette founded Intrepid Dance Company. Most recently, he starred as Trickster in Cirque Du Soleil’s KOOZA—because what better way to make use of all that bendiness? Scroll his Instagram for more Cirque Du Soleil photos that’ll blow your mind.
Kiki Nyemchek and Koine Iwasaki, Season 14
Is there anything better than a “SYTYCD” couple?
We stan Kiki and KoKo so hard. After making it to last season’s finale, the dynamic duo went on to perform on tour with Val and Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd. Most recently, they scored parts in the Hollywood Bowl production of Beauty and the Beast. So many #CoupleGoals.
