"The Greatest Showman" Choreographer's New Film Looks Adorable

April 7, 2018

And Harry Potter‘s Mrs. Umbridge and Peter Pettigrew will be there. GET INTO IT.

As soon as we saw Ashley Wallen’s big-toptastic moves for the 2017 hit musical The Greatest Showman, we had only one question: What would the Aussie choreographer’s next project be?

We now have an answer in the form of Finding Your Feet, a British rom-com that hit US theaters March 30. Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge from the Harry Potter movies) plays a woman who takes refuge with her estranged sister when it becomes clear her marriage is falling apart. Things look glum glum glum until she tags along to said sister’s social-dancing class—where she finds joy, community, and even romance in the form of a charmer played by Timothy Spall (who you’ll remember as Peter Pettigrew).

I don’t know about you, but I plan to keep dancing until I keel over one day in the middle of ballet class. (Just me? Okay then.) So I’m especially excited to catch this movie because Wallen’s smart choreo clearly shows how beautifully older people can dance, well into their “golden years.” Maybe we should start calling them the “goal-den” years instead?
