Quibi's "The Sauce" Is Your New Dance Show Obsession
Looking for something new to watch while social distancing? Check out “The Sauce,” a traveling dance competition show that dropped today as part of the new streaming service Quibi. Produced and judged by the one and only Usher, and hosted by the iconic Atlanta duo Ayo & Teo, it’s got some serious dance creds.
Throughout the series—which is broken into bite-sized, 10-minute episodes—Ayo & Teo travel to different cities across the United States, looking for the best dance squads in a variety of street styles. Those dancers then go head-to-head in the hopes of winning the $25,000 prize.
In total, eight teams battle it out on the show, many of which you’re likely familiar with: Larray and Brezay, 3 Much, Catch 22, Unrestricted, 2 Real Boys, Iso & Ace, Lehrock, and Young Legendz—which features TikTok star Michael Le, aka Just Maiko.
It’s fitting that “The Sauce” features a TikTok celeb: The show’s fast format makes it feel like you’re scrolling through 10 TikToks set to the same sound. You’ll walk away wanting to try out all of the teams’ app-friendly choreo. And because each episode is so quick, it’s easy to rewatch as many times as you need to nail the moves for your own TikTok videos.
Quibi is currently offering free 90-day trials of its app, so you can watch “The Sauce” gratis.
