This Is a Thing that Is Happening: George Takei Will Lead the World's Largest Chicken Dance
He’s definitely got the moves. (Screenshot from Takei’s “Happy Dance”—please, please look it up on YouTube)
George Takei was one of the stars of the original “Star Trek” TV and film series. But you probably know him as the owner of one of the world’s funniest Facebook pages. (Seriously, like him now. You won’t regret it.)
Well, apparently Mr. Takei is also a bit of a dancer. He’s been invited to serve as grand marshal of Cincinnati’s annual Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati festival, and to honor the occasion, he’ll lead the world’s largest chicken dance. Because…why not?
Actually, the chicken dance is an annual tradition at Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati. In the past it’s been led by the likes of Verne “Mini-Me” Troyer and rocker Eddie Money. Just take a minute to picture that.
If you’re in Cincinnati on September 21 and want to join in the good chicken-y fun, head to Fountain Square at 4 pm. And hey, Cincinnati: Can the rest of us get a live feed of this amazingness, please?
