Whoa, "World of Dance" Just Added Six Huge Celebs to This Season's Group of Mentors and Judges

July 23, 2018

Have you been thinking that what NBC’s “World of Dance” really needs is a bit of star power? Like, J.Lo and Derek Hough and Ne-Yo and Jenna Dewan are nice and all, but the show would benefit from some true A-listers?

LOLZ, no, of course you haven’t been thinking that. But because “WOD” loves us and wants us to be even happier, the show just announced the addition of no fewer than six big names to this season’s already-glittery lineup of mentors and guest judges—including some major dance-world luminaries.

So, who’s joining the “WOD” team? That’d be Julianne Hough, Mel B, Paula Abdul, Ciara, Savion Glover, and Misty Copeland. During the two episodes of The Cut round, set to air on August 22nd and August 29th, Glover will work with Lopez to mentor the Junior Team division; Julianne Hough will help her bro Derek with the Upper division; Mel B will pair with Ne-Yo to assist the Juniors; and Abdul will join forces with Dewan to help the Upper Team. During the Divisional Final, Copeland will serve as a guest judge, and Ciara will step in as a guest mentor.

I mean…wow.

Eagle-eyed observers might have noticed that the dates listed above are all Wednesdays. That’s because, beginning this week, the show will shift from its usual 10 pm Tuesday slot to a two-hour Wednesday-night telecast, starting at 8 pm. Even more “WOD” to love, YAY!
