“Ballroom with a Twist” Brings the Best from Your Favorite TV Dance Shows

Hey everyone!

I’m back to chat again! I wanted to tell you guys a little bit about the new ballroom show I’m a part of, called “Ballroom With A Twist.” It was choreographed by Louie Van Amstel from “Dancing With the Stars” and “So You Think Can Dance”. It’s a show based on ballroom, of course, but they also wanted to involve other styles of dance to really bring it to life and add a “TWIST.” The show has a lot of levels and dynamics; you see romantic rumbas, electric jives, dramatic tangos, classical waltz as well as beautiful contemporary and high energy hip hop, of course.

The cast is absolutely phenomenal. We have dancers from “Dancing With the Stars, “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Dance Your A** Off” and “Dance on Sunset.” I feel so lucky to get to dance with the other dancers in this show. Everyone is so strong at what they do, and we all want to be even better, so we work hard and push each other to be better everyday! But we also love to have fun and I think it pays off when we walk out on that stage. We love what we do and we can’t help but smile and really perform!

Not only do we have amazing dancers but we have special guests come in to be our hosts. People like Mario Lopez, Louie Van Amstel himself and most recently Gilles Marini, who you might remember from “Sex and the City” the movie or being in the finals from last season of “Dancing With the Stars.” He also performed one of the dances he had performed on “DWTS,” and he was brilliant!

It’s really exciting to watch how much he had learned and how much he still wants to dance. These hosts bring a really fun element to the show and interact with the audience. You might even be the lucky one who gets the chance to dance with them!

So don’t forget, it’s called “Ballroom with a Twist” and we are coming to a city near you! Olympic figure skater and “Dancing with the Stars” champ Kristi Yamaguchi will be joining us next month for shows in Wisconsin and Connecticut! Hope see you there!
