Bravo "Steps It Up" With New Dance Reality Show

September 11, 2007

If you’re like me and still mourning the end of “So You Think You Can Dance’s” third season, you’re in luck, because Bravo is swooping in to fulfill our reality dance competition cravings.

Bravo’s latest addition to its primetime lineup is called “Step It Up” (sound like a familiar movie I’m sure you’ve seen?) and will focus on dancers’ versatility and ability to perform a different style of dance – including Broadway, ballet, ballroom and burlesque – each week. Instead of “dancing for their lives,” dancers on this show will essentially be auditioning for various parts in the industry on each episode. So one week a dancer could be hoping to land a spot on a commercial and the next week it could be a part in a music video. The dancer who successfully makes it to the final “call back” wins a cash prize.

So if you know Bravo – the mastermind creators behind “Top Chef” and “Project Runway” – it’s safe to say that this show will be worth watching! No airdate has been set for the show yet, but check back here often and we’ll keep you posted.

If you think you’ve got what it takes to “Step It Up,” visit BravoTV.com/Casting. Open calls will be taking place in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Atlanta on the following days (all times and locations TBA):

Los Angeles – Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007

Chicago – Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007

New York – Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007

Atlanta – Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007

Good luck!

Cheers,

Alison
