Copy Cat

Cat Deeley is a beauty goddess. Every time she steps onto the “So You Think You Can Dance” stage with her perfectly-put-together outfits and flowing golden locks, there are more than a few audible “oohs” and “ahhs.” Now you can get her look, too. DS caught up with Cat to get the scoop

on how she created one of her stunning ensembles. Follow these simple tips to take Cat’s style to your stage.

Hair:

To achieve Cat’s loosely structured curls, wrap two-inch sections of hair around a 1 1/2 inch curling iron. After releasing the curl, carefully roll it back up and set it with a duckbill clip (pictured).

Repeat this until all of your hair is set. Once the curls have cooled (you can do your makeup while you wait), carefully remove the clips. Then, use your fingers to separate the curls into a deep side part and tame any wispies.

Makeup:

This look is all about the lips, so your eyes and cheeks don’t need a lot of color. Begin by dusting your face with powder and applying a light coat of rosy blush to the apples of your cheeks. Next, use a pale, shimmery eye shadow to highlight your brow bone and eyelid and apply a few coats of mascara to your top and bottom lashes. Finish with a deep red lipstick topped with clear gloss.

Outfit:

Sexy black lace gives this ensemble a bit of an edge. The model is wearing a long-sleeved lace leotard by Sansha. Try pairing it with a swingy black skirt for some cha-cha or black fishnets for a little “Le Jazz Hot.”

Cat says:

“To create a look, I tear pages out of magazines or use inspiration from books I’ve read or films I’ve seen. Then I sit down with my makeup artist and hair stylist and come up with an entire story. For this ensemble, we were going for a Dolce & Gabanna feel. I said, ‘I’m in La Dolce Vita and I need to eat ice cream, drink champagne, have a hot Italian man on my arm and drive a delicious sports car—open top, preferably.’ ”
