"DWTS" Week 8 Recap: Saddle Up for Country Night!

November 5, 2018

Last night’s “Dancing with the Stars” had it all: cowboy boots, a double elimination, and two perfect scores! Get your feet in those stirrups, because this recap’s about to be a wild ride.

Evanna Lynch + Keo Motsepe: 30/30

We’re calling it now: Evanna and Keo are the underdogs. They nailed every part of their emotional Rumba last night, snagging their first perfect score of the season. Evanna’s shown a ton of growth as a dancer and performer—all the work with Keo is clearly paying off—and their chemistry is so electric.

Juan Pablo Di Pace + Cheryl Burke: 30/30

This power couple followed up their Halloween night perfect score with another 30/30 this week. Not only did they prove they’re a duo to beat (hello, perfect score), but that versatility is their strong suit—I mean, did you see that honky tonk line dance situation? Still not over it. 10/10/10 in our book, too.

Milo Manheim + Witney Carson: 29/30

We stan this duo. Milo’s a natural mover, and when paired with Witney, who’s a legend in her own right, they’re definitely contenders for the Mirrorball Trophy. Their foxtrot was fluid, musical, and performed with a spark you just can’t fake. It’s hard to believe Milo’s only 17!

The end of the episode always catches us by surprise—the constant barrage of sparkles, glitter, and smiles makes us forget that couples are inevitably being sent home. Last night, not one but two couples were given the (cowboy) boot: John Schneider and pro Emma Slater, and DeMarcus Ware and pro Lindsay Arnold. And with that, we’ll leave the eliminated couples with some tried-and-true, authentic cowgirl advice: If you fall off the horse, dust yourself off and get right back on! 🐴
