Jill Marie Pimentel, 18

To give Jill’s tresses a party lift, hair stylist William Castillo upped the volume and kept the length by razor cutting sections in long layers, concentrating on the front. Going horizontally from ear to ear, he sectioned hair into three parts, then evened out the layer lengths by trimming two inches off the bottom in a blunt cut. Using a big round brush, he blow-dried hair in small sections, styling the strands straight out and the ends outward into a small flip. Once hair was dry, he used hair polish to finger-style tresses. For extra volume on top, he gently teased a section at thecrown with a wide-toothed comb, then brushed back before finishing with a light misting of hair spray.

Makeup:
Makeup artist Leo Won went for a shimmery glow effect that focused on the eyes for its main appeal. He began by balancing and lightening Jill’s skin tone—particularly around her nose and on her forehead—with a sheer application of concealer in a light shade, which he blended well with fingers, then a sponge for a super-smooth finish. He infused a soft glow on Jill’s face with a mixture of translucent and barely pink loose powders. After gently shaping and combing brows, he applied a pink-based powder over the entire eye, as well as underneath. “This primes and even outs skin tone and helps the other overlying eye colors to stand out,” Leo explained.

To create a sheer iridescent color wash, Leo used a shadow brush to apply glimmer on the lower lids and underneath rims of lower lashes; he applied gray shadow over and above the glimmer on the lids as well as on the bottom (closer to the lashline than the glimmer line). To whiten and widen eyes, Leo followed lashes completely along the lower eye rims with a white eyeline pencil, then applied two coats of black mascara on upper and lower lashes. He finished with a coating of light pink gloss on lips and cheeks with his fingers for this softly luminous look.
