Happy Thursday!

October 3, 2007

It’s been a crazy week around here! We’re putting the December issue together for you—I don’t want to say too much, but it’s gonna be a good one!

As for this week’s performances, there were some good ones. On Sunday I went to two (yes, count ’em, two!) shows. Fall for Dance, which I mentioned in my last blog, was awesome. It’s so exciting to see many styles of dance on one program. Of course it’s totally fine to have your preferences (I’m a modern/postmodern girl myself), but you learn so much by seeing stuff outside your comfort zone—especially when it’s paired with material that’s a little more familiar. This time I saw modern, ballet, tap and tango all in one afternoon! It’s particularly awesome if one program can make you both laugh and cry. That’s a job well done. Then I headed over to Kat’s performance, which was lots of fun. It’s always nice seeing your friends do what they love to do.

Tonight I’m headed to see Ailey II, Ailey’s second company. I saw them perform this summer in a gigantic thunder and lightning storm in a tent on a mountaintop in upstate New York, which was a truly terrifying experience (surely more so for them, but I was freaking out). So I’m hoping tonight is a more relaxing experience for everyone involved.

And then I’m on vacay! Do I have to say it again? Write to me! I want to know what you’re thinking about.

Love,

Abby
