Happy Thursday!

October 10, 2007

It’s a not-so-nice day here in NYC and I hope that wherever you are while you’re reading this is somewhere sunny and beautiful. But amidst the gloom and rain, there are always fun things going on here at DS.

First I can tell you that the November issue is amazing. It’s completely packed with fun stuff, so if you haven’t received yours in the mail yet, keep an eye out for it! As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a huge “So You Think You Can Dance” addict, so this issue–The Reality TV Issue–is very satisfying. Sara, the show’s versatile (and gorgeous!) B-girl, kept a diary for you all to read about her weekly experiences on the show and you’ll love her quirky thoughts on all of her different routines. DS explores just how “real” reality TV is, plus we’ve got tons of good stuff on Jersey, the lovable, down-to-earth dancer who got her break on MTV’s “Dancelife.”

Last week I attended a press screening of the upcoming movie “How She Move.” If you’re a stepper, you’ll love the off-the-hook dance segments throughout the film. The movie follows a super-smart high school girl who is forced to leave her prestigious private school when her family can’t afford it anymore. She gets hooked on the competitive world of underground stepping in order to make some money to get her back into school and eventually make her way to medical school. You’ll be rooting for the main character and–if you’re like me–your foot will be tapping to the beats the whole time! “How She Move” is slated to hit theaters on Jan. 25, 2008, so keep an eye out for it!

So in the meantime, keep checking your mailbox for the November issue and when you do get it, we want to know what you think! Email me at [email protected] or click here to share your thoughts on our message boards.

Stay dry!
