See NYCB's Nutcracker—Even If You're Not In NYC!

November 20, 2011

Can’t make it to NYC for New York City Ballet’s production of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker? While we definitely advocate seeing the show in person (it’s so good!), this year you don’t have to make the trip: The performance will be broadcast live to movie theaters nationally and on PBS!

The December 13 (6 pm) performance of The Nutcracker will be in theaters, so check your local movie times (the broadcast is being hosted by Kelly Ripa!), and the company’s December 14 (8 pm) performance will be shown on PBS by “Live From Lincoln Center.”

Want to know if your favorite New York City Ballet stars will grace the big screen in your hometown? Here’s a taste of the casting:

Sugarplum:
Megan Fairchild

Cavalier:
Joaquin De Luz

Dewdrop:
Ashley Bouder

Marzipan:
Tiler Peck

Coffee:
Teresa Reichlen

Candy Cane:
Daniel Ulbricht

Plus, you’ll see Lauren Lovette performing as one of the dolls, which we’re especially psyched about since she was our September 2010 cover girl!

Enjoy the show!
