Pop Group Jump5

October 26, 2008

Combine high-powered vocals with well-rounded dance training and you’ll get teen pop group Jump5. The four members released their newest tunes last September on their sixth album, Dreaming In Color, and after wrapping up a holiday tour in December, are looking ahead to a performance-packed schedule in 2005. Jump5’s multitalented members—Lesley Moore, Chris Fedun and siblings Brittany and Brandon Hargest—have toured with Aaron Carter and Radio Disney Live! and worked with choreographers Tony Michaels and Teresa Espinosa, but they got their performance start on the competition circuit.

The teens grew up studying ballet, jazz, hip hop and gymnastics, and their abilities are demonstrated in Jump5’s highly visual stage show, which is packed with turns, jumps, hip-hop freezes and tumbling passes. “Dancing was our life. We’d come straight home from school and practice for our next competition,” says Lesley. Brandon adds, “We danced at every competition we could get to.”

All four still manage to find time for dance class, especially Brandon and Brittany, whose mother is a dance teacher and converted their basement into a studio. Tours and albums aside, perhaps their biggest honor is visiting their old stomping grounds at regional and national competitions and seeing dances onstage set to Jump5 songs.
